Hope and Hero

Once upon a time, there is an evil lord that everyone wanted to get rid of, but could not for the longest period of time. There comes a wise man who with all his might, defeated that villain and restored peace in this little town. That made him the hero.

A hero is made out of circumstances.

Everyone craved for a hero in dire need of hope. Hoping someone could save them from despair and misery in their lives. Why put all hope on this one man?

Because you have a feeling that this man would keep pushing past his limits, even though odds are against him, and would fight for you till his last breath. He gives you hope, like a light which shines when there is darkness around. Everyone loves the story of a passionate man with a mission or a quest to pursue!

In actual fact, hope is an estimation of possibilities, which we do not know the odds that we are playing against. It is pure ignorance and being naive. We are in grave danger, if we were to leave everything to chances. Chances that leave only to hope is delusional.

A good hindsight question to better ask ourselves: Do we just leave everything to that super hero to do whatever we hope to achieve, or do we want to be a daily-life hero ourselves to lead that hopeful change?

One man could only do so much. But, what if, we could all pull ourselves together, to ensure what we have been hoping for, do really come true? We are the masters of our destiny. If you want that change, make that change! No matter how big or small that effort maybe, just do it!

Start by having hope for yourself:

  • "I hope to become a kind and considerate person to my neighbours, colleagues, acquaintances or people who have different opinion than mine."

  • "I hope to contribute to my community, by allocating time to know my neighbours well, and to help them when they are in need."

  • "I hope to keep the streets clean by not throwing rubbish out from my car."

  • "I hope to have a better life, by putting more effort in everything I do."

  • "I hope to create a safer environment for my kids to play in."

All the "I Hope ..." that you could possibly think of. In fact, your hope is everyone else's hope too, which we have never really given much thought about.

Be that hero that you have always hoped for. Not relying on someone else. For you could make that hope a reality.
